Dutch Floral Art Champion Announced
On January 14 and 15, Miranda ter Voorde, Tom Siebers, Franka Roenhorst, Anniek Siegers, Tiffany van Lenten, Rene van de Biezen, Bert Evers, Melissa Smedes, and Anneke Douma competed for the title of ‘Dutch Floral Art Champion’. This competition is organized by the VBW and takes place every four years. The winner of the Dutch Championship qualifies for the World Cup Floral Art, which will be held in The Hague in 2025.
All participants received six assignments, including two surprise tasks. Assignment two, which involved presenting a logo, and assignment four, titled “Emerging Spring,” were sponsored by Decorum Plants & Flowers. Using materials such as potted bulbs, lisianthus, spray roses, phalaenopsis, and tulips, the most beautiful creations were crafted.
The participants’ improvisational skills were put to the test in these challenges, all under the watchful eyes of Trendz visitors. Trendz is the trade fair in Gorinchem where retailers can meet the faces behind over 300 brands.
For two days, the tension was palpable, but on Monday evening, the winner was announced. With a score of 434.38 points, Franka Roenhorst won the title of ‘Dutch Floral Art Champion’ and received financial support for her participation in the World Cup Floral Art in 2025.
Congratulations, Franka, and best of luck with your preparations for the World Cup!
