Bernhard Patio is a family business based in Luttelgeest, specialising in bedding and patio plants. Within its assortment, Pelargonium Grandiflorum, better known as the French geranium, is a key product. The company is part of the Bernhard Group, which also includes Bernhard Orchids. While Bernhard Orchids focuses on Phalaenopsis, Bernhard Patio concentrates on annual flowering plants for terraces and gardens.

The origins of the company lie in a true horticultural family. The grandfather of the current generation grew vegetables and flowers in Amsterdam. In 1972, the family moved to the Noordoostpolder, where in Luttelgeest the foundation was laid for further growth. Today, the third generation is at the helm: brothers Simon and Bram Bernhard are responsible for the nurseries and the associated transport company.

Bernhard Patio focuses on growing strong patio plants that are delivered at the right moment in full bloom. A carefully managed cultivation process precedes this final result, in which planning and product development are closely aligned. The plants are supplied to wholesalers, exporters and fellow growers. Within the assortment, the emphasis is on annual varieties, with the French geranium as a recognisable focal product.
