Max Hurtaud

When Max Hurtaud was three years old, he already told his mother he wanted to become a florist to make bridal bouquets for her. That childhood ambition grew into an international career: today, French master florist Max Hurtaud is a firmly established name in floral art worldwide.

Max trained for six years at a floristry school near his hometown of La Rochelle, followed by a work placement in England. In 2015 he moved to Belgium, where Brussels, in his view, is the ideal base for florists. His style is eclectic and shaped by travel: he draws inspiration from the cultures he discovers along the way and aims to surprise with every design rather than repeat himself.

Max built his track record step by step. In 2017 he was a Floral Fundamentals ambassador and took part in Fleuramour in Alden Biesen. Since 2018 he has been part of the FLOOS project, publishing his designs in The Crafter’s Secret vol. 04 (2019). In 2020 he took bronze at the Belgian Championship of Floral Art, and since February 2024 he has served as BE-FLORIST ambassador for the Brussels region.

Today, Max focuses on floral event design, bridal work and training fellow florists. He has already given workshops and demonstrations in countries including Sri Lanka, India, Macau, Belarus and Bolivia, and his work has been featured in trade publications in the United States, Taiwan and Russia. He also appears monthly as a guest florist on Flower Circus’ online shows, where he shares his techniques with flower lovers worldwide, including via Instagram.

Max Hurtaud embodies the playful, boundary-pushing side of the trade: enthusiastic, technically skilled, and always looking for the next surprise.
