Diana Toma

n Timiș County, in western Romania, Diana Toma lives and works. Together with her partner Dan Toma, she runs Atelier Teatru Verde. For more than ten years, the duo has created floral designs for over three hundred weddings and corporate events. Their style combines technical precision with a fine eye for botanical detail.

Diana’s route into floristry wasn’t part of a fixed plan. She started out doing wedding work close to home. At a certain point, she decided to deepen her craft. That’s when she joined the European Master Certification programme. What began as studentship grew into a second career. Today, Diana works as Head Trainer within the EMC programme. There, she guides aspiring floral designers in technique, botanical knowledge and composition.

A defining feature of her approach is close attention to the properties of every botanical material. Character, line, transparency and colour harmony all shape the direction of a design. She shares this way of looking not only with her students. A wider audience experiences it too, through workshops and demonstrations.

Diana is also closely involved in the wider Romanian floral industry. As a partner, she contributed to Artestry, Romania’s annual World of Flowers Festival. There, international designers and growers such as Decorum come together around the craft.

Diana Toma combines hands-on practice with education. In doing so, she embodies the florist who doesn’t just practise the craft. She also passes it on to a new generation. She shares more of her work via her Instagram account.
