Strelitzia
The Strelitzia is a beautiful, flowering house plant. Its other name is ‘bird of paradise’, because of its beautifully-shaped leaves and colourful flowers.This elegant house plant thrives in positions with plenty of light and needs a lot of water.
There are a number of species, one of which is the young-leafed Strelitzia Nicolai. The Strelitzia Reginae is the species known as the ‘bird of paradise flower’. It can start to flower after 8 years. Once finished, it can take up to 12 months for the plant to flower again. The Strelitzia Nicolai only flowers in the wild.
