Polyscias
The Polyscias is sometimes referred to as the ‘house tree’, due to its silhouette complete with trunk, branches and leaves. But of course all at a handy living room scale, so what more is there to like? ‘Poly’ means ‘much’ or ‘many’, and ‘scias’ is Greek for shade. The message could not be clearer; the plant likes the shade, so never force it into the full blast of the sun. Site the plant in a corner, where it can radiate its gentle green peace and quiet.
