Madrid Blooms: where contemporary floral artistry comes to life

Madrid Blooms: where contemporary floral artistry comes to life

Every year in January, Madrid transforms into the international stage for Madrid Blooms, a leading cultural and floral event where creativity, craftsmanship and education come together. This remarkable event takes place in the heart of the Spanish capital and has quickly developed into one of the most progressive platforms for contemporary floral artistry in Europe.

Madrid Blooms was founded and curated by Sylvia Bustamante and organised by the Madrid Flower School. Unlike traditional trade fairs, the focus here is not on the product but on the artistic vision of the floral artist. Creative excellence forms the core, with attention to education, sustainability, craftsmanship and artistic expression.

A carefully curated programme

The four-day programme of Madrid Blooms is rich in content and thoughtfully composed. Visitors can expect a symposium and live demonstrations by internationally renowned floral artists, hands-on workshops and educational sessions focusing on technique, concept and sustainability, the collaborative creation of large-scale floral installations and a refined mini fair where a select number of sponsors and premium flowers and plants are presented.

These installations are created in the historic Palacio de Santa Bárbara, which is completely transformed into an immersive floral art environment during the event. The result is an experience that resembles a carefully curated museum exhibition rather than a commercial trade fair.

During the 2026 edition, Decorum Flowers & Plants played a visible and meaningful role as a sponsor. In addition to the use of Decorum plants in several large-scale installations, Decorum provided all participating master florists with product, including Putnam Flowers (Mikey Putnam), Victoria Clausen Floral Events (Victoria Clausen), Studio Lilo (Lilo Klinkenberg), Blue Jasmine Floral (Paulina Nieliwocki), Gregor Lersch Floral Design (Gregor Lersch), Matagalán Plantae (Carolina Spencer) and September Studio (Bryce Heyworth)

This made the plants an essential part of the creative installations and contributed to themes such as colour, texture, sustainability and contemporary design. At the same time, this collaboration offered Decorum the opportunity to further expand its international network of leading floral designers and creative professionals.

Positionering en impact

Madrid Blooms has developed into a reference point within contemporary floristry, with a strong appeal to creatives working at the intersection of floral design, art, fashion and culture. The emphasis on sustainability, artistic integrity and education makes the event particularly suitable for premium brands seeking meaningful visibility beyond the traditional commercial setting.

With an engaged international audience and ambitious plans for future editions, including expansion in location, programme and participation from the sector, Madrid Blooms continues to grow in scale and influence. For Decorum it is an inspiring stage where plants and flowers not only play a decorative role, but actively contribute to art and creativity while valuable international connections are formed.
